Prologis UK, a leading property owner, developer and investor, announces full occupancy at 1000 Discovery Drive, located at Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), having let the five storey, state-of-the-art building to Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUHT) and a market-leading European biotech company.
This milestone is the result of the growing demand for laboratory and office space from start-ups to leading international companies, which is the catalyst for such speculative builds as 1000 Discovery Drive. The building achieved practical completion at the end of 2023 and following a period of bespoke fit-out for each customer, Prologis UK anticipates 1000 Discovery Drive to be fully occupied during 2024.
Cambridge University Hospitals secured a lease for 23,000 sq. ft. where it will house an ultra-modern histopathology unit which will provide diagnostic pathology services supporting clinical trials and biotechnological research. The remaining 80,000 sq. ft. has been let to a market-leading European biotech company in order to carry out cutting edge R&D.
Leading the way in life sciences in the UK, CBC provides a rare opportunity for collaboration between academia, clinicians and life science industry leaders. 1000 Discovery Drive will provide the support required to advance this eco-system at CBC, which will be further enhanced by development plans for an additional 300,000 sq. ft. of laboratory and office space.
