Specialising in premium building products to construction businesses, Northern Building Plastics (NBP) started life 15 years ago in Leeds, trading to local contractors from a small depot.
Fast-forward to today, and the business now operates out of five key locations across the country. Already covering the North and the Midlands, earlier this year NBP targeted the London and South-East markets with a new logistics hub at Prologis Park Hemel Hempstead.
But what do they do different? In an industry traditionally structured around a trade counter model servicing local customers face-to-face, NBP has found success through e-commerce, with some 90% of orders serviced through deliveries to site – cutting time and costs for the construction trade. In doing so, the business can service its market with over 10,000 different lines, confirming their position as the go to, reliable, customer-first supplier.
Expanding into the South-East from Hemel Hempstead
When the businesses needed a location from which to expand into the competitive South East market, our DC7 unit at Hemel Hempstead was the perfect fit, providing space for futureproofing and growth.

A prime example of our portfolio, DC7 is a 21,535 sq. ft. industrial unit with sizeable yard area, space for up to 24 vehicles, electric vehicle charging points, LED lighting and a solar PV array. Having moved into their new space in 2025, it’s safe to say NBP is well established at the site.
