It’s often said that charity begins at home, but for Kathryn Bird, a Director in the legal department at Prologis UK, charity begins at work and school and has seen her take on three charity challenges during October alone.
“I’m a very active person by nature”, Kathryn explains. “Two years ago, together with a group of mums from my children’s school, I climbed Snowdon to raise money for Cancer Research and Marie Curie Hospice after a friend lost her husband to the disease. Following this challenge, we’ve gone on to tackle Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis and have been joined by our partners on a number of long distance walks, runs and cycle rides for charity”.
Over the past two years Kathryn and a group of parents from her children’s school have raised more than £40,000 for a number of charities, including Cancer Research, Marie Curie Hospice, LoveBrum and the Midlands Hearing Implant Programme (MHIP) at Birmingham Children’s Hospital - a charity close to Kathryn’s heart.
