Although industrial development land has reached a critically low level in the West Midlands, Prologis UK, has continued to deliver high quality, environmentally sustainable facilities for customers across the region.
This achievement was recognised at the West Midlands Insider Property Awards, when we won Commercial Developer of the Year.
As the judges said: “Prologis is the ultimate ‘does what it says on the tin’ developer, producing big, bold projects year in, year out. Prologis has got industrial development down to a fine art, producing a steady stream of massive transformational projects.”
In the West Midlands, we have completed deals on four units, totaling 1.35 million square foot over the past year. These are 477,000 square foot to Jaguar Land Rover and 127,500 square foot to Syncreon at Prologis Park Midpoint; 225,000 square foot to Jaguar Land Rover at Prologis Park Ryton for its new special vehicles operations centre; 525,000 square foot to Dunelm Group plc at Prologis Park Sideway.
All four buildings have been designed and constructed to support customers operating in growth sectors that are critical to the region’s economy and when fully operational, the new facilities have the potential to deliver over 1,000 jobs together with training opportunities for local people.
The awards were presented by Martin Bayfield, former England and British Lions rugby player and – for Harry Potter fans – Hagrid’s body double.
