Prologis, the global leader in industrial real estate, today announced that it has signed a lease agreement with Optima Logistics for DC1 Prologis Middlewich, a 185,396 square foot distribution centre at Middlewich in Cheshire.
Based in the North West, Optima Logistics is a freight management and logistics services company that operates across the UK and Europe. The decision to take DC1 at Prologis Middlewich is part of the company’s expansion programme, which could bring up to 50 jobs to the local area in the first six months.
“There is an increasing demand for our bespoke distribution services and this state of the art building will allow us to develop our capabilities,” said Kevin Williams, managing director of Optima Logistics. “It is in an ideal location for many of our clients and it represents a significant investment in the ongoing success of our business.”
Within two miles of Junction 18 of the M6, the facility is at the heart of the region’s road and rail networks and within easy reach of both Manchester and Liverpool airports.
“Optima Logistics needed a distribution centre in the North West that is immediately ready to occupy,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK “We aim to offer our customers the best opportunities in the market and we are delighted that we were able to meet the company’s requirements at Middlewich.”
