Prologis, the global leader in industrial and logistics real estate today announced an agreement to lease two buildings of 141,225 square feet and 327,730 square feet to Jaguar Land Rover at Prologis Park Ryton.
Prologis started constructing both units speculatively in September 2015 and completion is scheduled for July 2016. The 327,730 building will become part of Jaguar Land Rover’s expanding manufacturing operation, while the 141,225 square foot facility will be the new headquarters for Jaguar Land Rover Classic. The buildings are close to the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Vehicle (SVO) Technical Centre, which the company established at Prologis Park Ryton in 2014.
Both new facilities have been designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for their size. Prologis Park Ryton is located at the heart of the motorway network, within easy reach of the M6, M69 and M40/M5.
“We are delighted that Jaguar Land Rover has chosen to expand its operations at Ryton,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK “We are investing in our prime sites to create the best opportunities in the market for our customers, and we are pleased that the two speculative buildings meet Jaguar Land Rover’s requirements.”
Gerald Eve, Avison Young and JLL acted for Prologis. Jaguar Land Rover was not represented.
Prologis owns and manages approximately 25 million square feet of logistics and distribution space in the UK as of March 31, 2016.
