Prologis, Inc., the global leader in industrial real estate and joint venture partner Wittington Investments (Developments) Limited today announced a lease agreement with Dunelm Group plc for a purpose-built 525,000 square foot distribution centre at Prologis Park Sideway in the West Midlands.
Dunelm is the UK’s leading homeware retailer and this new facility will give the company further capacity to support its recently announced growth strategy. Prologis Park Sideway is at Junction 15 of the M6, which is within a three hour drive of the UK’s major towns and cities.
The new building has been designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and an EPC ‘A’ rating. Construction will begin this spring with completion scheduled for early 2016.
“Prologis has a strong relationship with Dunelm, so we are delighted that we are working with the company to expand its operations at Stoke-on-Trent,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK “Prologis Park Sideway is one of the few locations in the West Midlands that can accommodate a building of this size and because we have invested in the site, we can start construction immediately. We are always very pleased when our detailed preparation means we can deliver the opportunities our customers are seeking.”
JLL and North Rae Sanders acted for Prologis and Wittington.
Prologis owns and manages approximately 23 million square feet of logistics and distribution space in the UK as of December 31, 2014.
