Prologis announces new speculative development at Milton Keynes

Press Release

October 19, 2016

Prologis, Inc., the global leader in logistics real estate, today announced that it will speculatively develop a 275,000 square foot distribution centre at Prologis Park Marston Gate.

Located next to the 151,000 square foot national distribution centre that Prologis is building for furniture retailer Dwell, the speculative facility will complete the second phase of Prologis Park Marston Gate.

Designed and constructed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and the best possible EPC rating for its size, the building will include a rooftop solar installation that will generate 10 percent of the building’s regulated energy. Construction will begin this month and the unit is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2017.

Providing around 1.8 million square feet in total, Prologis Park Marston Gate is located to the south east of Milton Keynes, next to Junction 13 of the M1. Situated at the heart of the UK motorway network, the park provides easy access to consumer markets in the Midlands, the South and the South East.

This distribution centre builds on the success of our two recent phases of speculative development and it is the largest speculative building to be constructed in the UK since the Brexit vote

Andrew Griffiths, Prologis UK

“Although the referendum caused a hiatus in speculative development, demand has remained constant,” said Andrew Griffiths, Managing Director, Prologis UK. “Our customers trust us to deliver the buildings they need to run their operations as efficiently as possible and we aim to offer them the best opportunities on the market.”

Lambert Smith Hampton and Burbage Realty are acting for Prologis.

Prologis owns and manages approximately 23 million square feet of logistics and distribution space in the UK as of June 30, 2016.
