Grange Park, Northampton
The Requirement
- In order to develop a distribution park at Grange Park in Northampton in 2001, Prologis needed regenerate a contaminated 500-acre brownfield site into an easily accessible new community
The Solution
- Prologis developed a masterplan that integrated the new distribution centres with housing, shops, restaurants, offices and a large country park.
- After re-mediating the site of a former domestic refuse plant, Prologis carried out a £12 million infrastructure programme that included re-building Junction 15 of the M1, extensive improvements to the A508 and the provision of all on-site services.
- Prologis worked in partnership with residential developers to provide 1,500 new homes.
The Result
- A new community has been created as an extension of the Northampton urban area with new homes, 1,000 new jobs and an improved road network.
