Bringing some Christmas cheer to patients in the neurosurgery unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, a team from Prologis UK dressed in festive outfits to decorate the unit’s Christmas tree.
Prologis has built up a good relationship with Birmingham Children’s Hospital and has raised thousands of pounds to support it through sponsored events such as the Birmingham Half Marathon and the London to Paris Bike Ride, so the team was very happy to be invited to help with the Christmas tree.
The neurosurgery unit looks after children who need brain or spinal surgery. Some patients may have been injured in a road or sporting accident, while others may have been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Many of the children will be too sick to go home for Christmas, so as Shahaji Begum from the Children’s Hospital explained:
"We are extremely pleased to have played our part in enabling further economic development in the region; there has been significant new employment opportunities involved in these developments during a very challenging time."
"These children have to deal with many different problems and many will be in hospital over Christmas, so having Prologis decorate a Christmas tree was all the more special for them. They can open their presents by the tree on Christmas Day, just like everyone else."
