Prologis announced today it has signed a lease for 360,000 square feet (33,445 square meters) with Expert Logistics, a subsidiary of DRL Holdings Ltd, the largest online kitchen appliance specialist in the United Kingdom. The company will occupy the entire facility.
Acquired by DRL in 2009, Expert Logistics specializes in white goods distribution, handling deliveries in the UK for DRL’s online brands--Appliances Online and Appliance Deals--as well as for other retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and Argos.
“The company is currently operating from a number of smaller buildings, so the move to Prologis Crewe 360 will allow us to consolidate our distribution operations under one roof,” said Dave Ashwell, managing director of Expert Logistics. “This building is ideally suited to our business, since it gives us immediate access to the motorway network, and its environmental credentials mean that it will be cost-effective to operate.”
Prologis Crewe 360, a 360,000-square-foot (33,445-square-meter) development, is a state-of the-art distribution center that has achieved BREEAM “Excellent” accreditation, as well as an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) “A” rating, indicating low carbon emissions and excellent energy efficiency.
“With this agreement, we’ve nearly completed the lease-up of our development portfolio in the UK,” said Alan Sarjant, Senior Vice President, Market Officer. “By understanding Expert Logistics’ needs, we were able to accommodate them with a facility ready to occupy. We are also pleased with the activity on our projects, recently completed and currently underway, that takes advantage of the strategically located land bank we have in the UK.”
