Prologis signs new lease with British Gas
in Coventry

18 May 2010

British Gas has taken the H2 unit at Prologis Park Coventry. It will use the 105,000 square foot facility (pictured above) for the distribution of smart meters and to expand its home insulation products division. The building was awarded EPC Grade A and BREEAM Excellent certifications. Following this transaction, all existing distribution warehouses are now leased at Prologis Park Coventry.

The park totals more than 1.5 million square feet of distribution space and is ideally located three miles from Junction 3 of the M6, in the centre of the country's transport network and industrial heartland. Other customers at the park include DHL, Coop, Halfords, Bridgestone and Gefco.

Nigel Warwick, Group Head of Estates of Centrica plc, said: "This building provides us with a great location for our business needs. Smart meters and insulation will help our customers cut their energy use and reduce their carbon emissions so it is important to us that the building we use reflects this as well. The building's EPC Grade A and BREEAM Excellent certifications were a big factor in us choosing this site."

Andy Griffiths, MD of Prologis UK, commented: "We are delighted to have signed this agreement with a new customer of such high standard. Once again we assisted a customer in its expansion plans and implemented tailored fit-out solutions adapted to its business needs. In these challenging times this deal represents a significant contribution to the economy of the West Midlands."
