BMW at Prologis Park Pineham
- planning granted

12 January 2011

Prologis (NYSE: PLD), the leading provider of distribution space in the UK, announced today that it has been granted planning consent to develop a new 457,546 sq ft (42,506 sq m) purpose built warehouse for BMW Group (UK) Ltd. at Prologis Park Pineham in Northampton.

Prologis submitted a planning application for the new building to the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) in October this year, a few days after signing a lease agreement with BMW Group. Work on the site is expected to begin in spring 2011, with completion on track for January 2012.

The facility will be the result of a multi-million pound investment by BMW Group in the UK and will serve as BMW Group's regional distribution centre delivering parts to BMW, MINI, Rolls- Royce Motor Cars and BMW motorcycle dealers throughout the UK and Ireland. The building will be carbon neutral and constructed to meet the standards of EPC "A" rating and BREEAM "Excellent".

Andy Griffiths, MD of Prologis UK, said: "We are delighted to have been given the go-ahead by the WNDC and look forward to working closely with them and with BMW Group. This decision is an important step forward in the process and the new warehouse is expected to employ around 200 people when it becomes operational in April 2012. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the local Northants economy."
